  • No ads, no email walls, no sign-up needed. Just accurate numbers.
  • Year-by-year corpus breakdown so you can see compounding in action.
  • Built on actual Indian tax laws: ₹1.25L LTCG exemption, post-April 2023 debt fund rules.
  • Fully responsive — works on mobile, tablet, and desktop without any app download.

Frequently asked questions

What is a SIP calculator and how does Nivesh calculate returns?
A SIP calculator estimates the future value of your monthly mutual fund investments. Nivesh uses the standard SIP future value formula (monthly compounding) and also deducts applicable LTCG or STCG tax to show your real take-home amount — something most free calculators don't do.
What is LTCG tax on mutual funds in India (2026)?
Long-Term Capital Gains (LTCG) on equity and hybrid mutual funds held for more than 1 year is taxed at 12.5% on gains above ₹1.25 lakh per financial year. Short-term gains (held less than 1 year) are taxed at 20%. Debt fund gains are taxed as per your income tax slab (post April 2023).
How is lumpsum return calculated?
Lumpsum return uses compound interest: Final Amount = P × (1 + r)^n, where P is your principal, r is the annual return rate, and n is the number of years. Nivesh applies this formula and then calculates post-tax take-home based on your holding period.
Is Nivesh completely free? Are there any hidden charges?
Yes — Nivesh is 100% free with no hidden charges, no ads, no email sign-up, and no premium tier. It is maintained by a small team and supported by voluntary community contributions.
Which is better — SIP or lumpsum investment?
SIP is generally better for salaried investors as it averages out market volatility (rupee cost averaging). Lumpsum is better when markets are at a correction and you have a large idle sum. Use both calculators on Nivesh to compare your specific scenario.
